Overview
Sparktel is currently recruiting for an experienced HSQE Advisor to join a growing team supporting major utilities and infrastructure projects across Ireland. This is a site-focused role with responsibility for helping maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance across a range of operational activities. Nationwide travel will be required, so flexibility and a full driving licence are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor health, safety and compliance performance across operational sites.
- Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc site inspections, audits and safety reviews.
- Prepare regular HSE/HSQE reports and communicate key findings to management.
- Work with site teams to identify non-conformances and agree corrective actions
- Deliver site safety briefings, toolbox talks and employee inductions.
- Review RAMS and risk assessments
- Provide advice to site management and operational teams
- Assist with incident, accident and near-miss investigations where required.
- Support the development and review of emergency response and site emergency plans.
- Advise teams on appropriate PPE and safe working practices.
- Ensure subcontractor health and safety documentation is complete, current and available on site.
- Monitor statutory inspection and certification records for plant, equipment and relevant activities.
- Maintain accurate HSQE records and track safety-related certification and training requirements and liaise with relevant internal teams to ensure compliance.
- 3+ years experience working in a utilities, infrastructure, construction or similar operational environment.
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety / HSE / HSQE
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
- Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Good understanding of RAMS and construction safety requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
- Full, clean driving licence and comfortable travelling to sites nationwide
