Sparktel, Specialist Recruiter’s for the telecoms industry, have partnered with one of the largest utilities companies and are looking to speak with Experienced Telecoms and Utility Technicians for permanent roles across the UK with direct contracts. We are looking to speak with the candidates with the following experience;

  • Fibre Splicing
  • UG & OH Cabling
  • Civils
  • Subducting
  • Polling

You will have the opportunity to work on some of the largest, long-term projects across the UK. We are looking for people with various levels of experience along with ‘ready-to-go’ gangs. You will be joining a rapidly growing company working on the fixed-line telecoms network.

Job Description:

You will work on the following basis depending on your background and skillset:

  • 1-man gang
  • 2-man gang
  • 3-man gang

As a Telecoms Technician, you will be working on both new-build and maintenance works on the fixed-line telecoms networks. As a gang, you will be responsible for the following alongside your regular day-today duties:

  • Following job packs as provided by the office team
  • Ensuring the highest possible level of Health & Safety when on site
  • Follow design and schematics on a hand-held device
  • Working alongside other gangs to complete works/projects
  • Maintain records and daily work logs data recording along with updating network maps
  • Traffic and pedestrian management depending on work location
  • Other duties as required by your supervisor

Gang Requirements:

Each gang must comprise of the following tickets;

  • Experience working in telecoms or utilities
  • Previous experience working on FTTH/FTTB projects
  • B Category driving licence
  • NRSWA accreditation
  • Network Operative Passport Scheme Card (NOPS)
  • Experience working with traffic and pedestrian management
  • A knowledge of the road network in the UK
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Hardworking with a positive attitude to work
  • Ability to work as part of a team along with your own initiative
  • Experience using hand-held devices such as a smartphone/tablet
