Overview

Sparktel Ltd have teamed up with the leading providers to the Telecommunications, Transport Infrastructure and Power Sectors in Ireland and the UK. We are currently seeking a Civils Project Manager / Senior Civil Engineer who will be predominantly based in Dublin. On the back of an ever-increasing workload, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer/ Project Manager. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, your role as Project Manager is to lead the delivery of projects in the civil, power and telecommunications sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To handle the full life cycle of various projects from enitial RFQ to bid/tender to programe build, project delivery and final handover.
  • To promote and ensure high standards of Health, Safety and Quality on projects
  • Managing projects in all aspects including health & safety, programming, technical, quality, commercial
  • Ensure high levels of productivity by assigning roles, tasks and responsibilities to direct and subcontractor contribitors for the successful completion of projects in accordance with planning, specifications and requirements.
  • In conjunction with QS/Commercial team manage the commercial element of contracts / project
  • Ensure the company’s image and profile at site level is professional

Additional Duties / Responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations and with company health & safety policy on all sites under control

2. Oversee quality control on site for all aspects of the works adopting a Right First Time culture

3. Plan and schedule the works and manage the construction programme

4. Setting out all elements of works including road alignments and service installations

5. Surveying constructed works for as-built drawings

6. Monitoring and recording progress on site and assisting in updating the works programme

7. Management of material deliveries on site and checking quality of materials

8. Managing Circet Field Supervisors in directing sub-contractor works on site and performance

9. Identify and record additional works or deviations alongside QS

10. Managing relationships with key stakeholders such as, clients, councils, internal senior management and sub-contractors

11. Attend regular site meetings with construction team, design team and client

12. Maintaining daily site records and testing records

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 6 years experience
  • Proficiency in use of setting out equipment – GPS, robotic total station, levelling equipment is desirable
  • Experience working with AutoCAD
  • Experience working with programming software
  • Good commercial and contract awareness
  • Experience of roadworks and utility installations
  • Experience in quality control of engineering materials on site
  • Knowledge of relevant roadworks specifications
  • Good communication skills
