Our client, a rapidly expanding design and build company operating within the utilities industry, are looking to hire a Materials manager. Our client continues to expand its operations across Ireland and is engaged in a number of long term framework contracts and are recruiting at all levels.
The Materials Manager will organise and oversee all activities involved in the acquisition of materials and equipment. The goal is to ensure materials and equipment required for the completion of projects will reach the field in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Recording inventory and materials usage.
Collaborate with all stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
Establish KPI’s for measurement and evaluation of factors affecting materials.
Analyses current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency
Negotiates prices for materials & delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
Report to senior management with regards to information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
Skills and experience:
Inventory Management Systems expertise
Qualification in Supply Chain, Business or related field a distinct advantage
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Salary from €45,000
Full time, permanent contract
