Job Description:

Our Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Bid Director to lead the end-to-end bid process within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role will involve managing bid strategy, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality, compliant, and competitive submissions. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial awareness, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive winning proposals and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the bid team, providing coaching, guidance, and motivation to ensure alignment with project goals and deadlines.
  • Develop and implement winning bid strategies in collaboration with sales, commercial, and delivery teams.
  • Review and analyse RFPs, ITTs, and tender documentation to assess risks, opportunities, and financial feasibility.
  • Manage the full bid lifecycle — from opportunity qualification and preparation through to submission and post-bid evaluation.
  • Oversee bid budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
  • Conduct kick-off meetings, strategy sessions, and progress reviews to maintain clear communication and accountability across teams.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships as part of the bid delivery process.
  • Monitor bid performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in bid management or a related role within the construction or general contracting industry.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously.
  • Additional certifications in Project Management or Bid Management are an advantage.
