Our client is a leading player in the Irish utility services sector, specializing in power, telecoms, renewables, civils, and data centre solutions. They are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Executive to join our dynamic team and drive commercial growth in this exciting and evolving industry.

Duties and Responsibilities  

As a Business Development Executive, you will be instrumental in developing new business opportunities and strengthening the company’s presence in the market. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities across the power, telecoms, civils, renewables, and data center segments.
- Maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities using CRM systems and e-Tenders.
- Managing prequalification processes, conducting bid/no-bid assessments, and supporting strategic tender positioning.
- Collaborating with Operations to create compelling proposals and pricing submissions.
- Building and nurturing long-term relationships with stakeholders at utility companies and main contractors.
- Attending industry networking events and client briefings to enhance relationships and gather market intelligence.
- Supporting senior leadership in the execution of the commercial strategy and providing sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market insights.
- Facilitating efficient data management across the organization and contributing to internal growth initiatives.



Experience and Skills Required  

- A minimum of 5 years of business development or commercial experience within the Irish utility services sector, including power, telecoms, civils, grid infrastructure, or renewables.
- Strong knowledge of procurement frameworks and utility tendering processes, including public-sector bidding and e-Tenders.
- A proven track record of achieving sales targets and securing long-term contracts in a technical services environment.
- An ability to comprehend technical scopes, drawings, and project requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel nationwide as necessary.
- A self-starter with a proactive approach and a high level of accountability.
- Strong commercial awareness and a strategic mindset, with the ability to build credibility and trust with customers.
- The capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and influence stakeholders at all levels.
