Overview
Sparktel is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Finance Analyst for our client based in West Dublin/Kildare. Our client is a leading provider of technical design, build and maintenance solutions in the Telecoms Industry. This role will report to the Head of Finance and work collaboratively with the finance, data, and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Excel-based tools, trackers, and dashboards for project financial control.
- Develop automated workflows and templates to streamline processes such as purchase order creation, invoicing, and reporting.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing financial processes and implement system-based improvements.
- Use advanced Excel techniques (Power Query, pivot tables, lookups, automation, data modelling) to manage and analyse large datasets.
- Build reporting dashboards to monitor project costs, revenue, and performance.
- Develop structured trackers that support both operational teams and finance stakeholders.
- Generate and manage purchase orders using validated operational data.
- Manage subcontractor retentions and ensure correct financial system application.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between operational data, POs, and supplier invoices.
- Maintain and manage project rate cards.
- Develop and maintain WIP tracking tools to support accurate and timely billing.
- Support project P&L reporting through structured financial models.
Experience Required
- 2+ years’ experience in a project finance, financial analyst, or finance operations role.
- Advanced Excel is essential, including: Complex formulas, Power Query, Pivot tables and modelling, Automation and structured tool building
- Strong experience building trackers, templates, and dashboards.
- Proven ability to improve processes through systems development.
- Strong data validation and data management skills.
- Experience in Telecoms or Civils/Utilities Industry is highly desired
