Sparktel Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Fibre Planner to join our client on a Daily Rate Contract Basis. Our client is a leading telecoms infrastructure team working on one of Ireland’s most expansive fibre broadband networks. This role is central to the planning and design of fibre networks across both urban and rural environments. The successful candidate will work closely with network design, build, and operations teams to create scalable, efficient fibre routes and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and plan fibre routes for both new network rollouts and upgrade projects
- Create detailed plans and drawings for overhead and underground fibre deployments using industry-standard tools (GIS/CAD)
- Collaborate with field surveyors, civils teams, and third-party contractors to validate and adjust network plans
- Coordinate wayleave and permit applications with local authorities and utility stakeholders
- Maintain and update planning data within internal systems and mapping platforms
- Optimise network performance and cost efficiency through intelligent design approaches
- Support project delivery teams during the build phase with technical input and planning insights
- 2+ years’ experience in fibre planning & design
- Strong working knowledge of FTTH/FTTP design standards and principles
- Experience with planning tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.
- Familiarity with permitting and regulatory requirements in the Irish market
- Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
