Overview
Our client is a leading infrastructure company based in Athlone. They continue to expand their fleet operations. We are looking for a proactive and organized Fleet Administrator to support the Fleet Manager in the day-to-day management of fleet and stores operations.
The Role:
As the Fleet Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that company vehicles are maintained in roadworthy condition and comply with current RSA road traffic and safety legislation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and conducting periodic visual inspections.
- Administering company vehicle and driver policies regarding usage and responsibilities.
- Preparing periodic reports on fleet activity, including fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle damage tracking.
- Coordinating with insurance companies to maintain appropriate coverage and processing accident reports and repair quotes.
- Monitoring vehicle availability based on departmental needs and capacity.
- Collaborating with HR and accounting departments to ensure proper vehicle registration for BIK purposes.
- Managing the hire and de-hire of vans, and liaising with vehicle providers for repairs, servicing, and compliance.
- Maintaining vehicle tracking systems, including arranging the fitting and removal of trackers for hired/de-hired vehicles.
- Participating in new projects to support the fleet management team by setting goals and objectives.
The Person
- Essential knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong administrative skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Desirable experience working in a hire or fleet management team, with an understanding of commercial vehicles.
