An excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major telecommunications infrastructure programme in South Wales. The role will oversee the installation of 200km of direct-buried subduct using mole ploughing and directional drilling techniques, running from Newgale to Newport. Working as part of a dedicated network build team, the Project Engineer will ensure that work is delivered to contract requirements, quality standards, and Health & Safety obligations, while maintaining strong communication with contractors, authorities, and project stakeholders. This role will require some travel to various sites in South Wales, a full clean driving license will be required as a Company Car, Ford Ranger, will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day project delivery to ensure all works meet contractual, quality, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Monitor progress against the agreed project plan, escalating risks or delays when required.
- Coordinate and liaise with all contractors and subcontractors involved in the network build.
- Engage with local authorities and relevant government agencies to manage permits, compliance, and permissions.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and their representatives, ensuring updates and queries are managed professionally.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, updates, and documentation required by the Programme Manager.
- Support the efficient and safe delivery of mole ploughing and directional drilling operations across the project route.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple parties across a geographically dispersed project.
