Overview
Sparktel are currently recruiting for a Project Manager based in Co. Kerry on behalf of our client. Our client is a leader in the delivery of a major infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK. The successful candidate will manage the construction of a substation and the associated grid route, overseeing the site team and subcontractors and reporting directly to a Contracts Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the on-site delivery of works, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and programme requirements.
- Manage and coordinate site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues arising from design or on-site challenges.
- Review and interpret design documents, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Supervise the implementation of method statements and risk assessments.
- Ensure all materials and works meet required standards and specifications.
- Promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Maintain excellent communication with stakeholders including consultants, planners, and quantity surveyors.
- Contribute to procurement and materials planning, including plant and equipment.
- 3+ years in a similar Project Management role in the utilities industry.
- A degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong track record managing civil engineering projects, ideally substations and electricity grid routes.
- Proven experience with reinforced concrete structures and large-diameter pipework.
- Proficiency with project planning tools such as MS Project.
- Valid Safe Pass, SMSTS, or equivalent safety certification.
