Role Overview:
As a Warehouse Officer, your primary responsibility will be overseeing the outbound logistics process, ensuring timely and efficient dispatch of goods. You will play a crucial role in coordinating daily deliveries with hauliers, managing picking lists for warehouse staff, and interacting directly with customers. Your strong IT skills will be essential for reporting on inventory and streamlining our dispatch operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage picking lists for warehouse staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in order fulfilment.
- Instruct hauliers on daily delivery schedules and optimize logistics by clustering orders to the same location for transportation.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to meet dispatch deadlines and ensure the timely delivery of goods to customers.
- Interface directly with customers to address inquiries and provide updates on dispatch schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels, prepare reports, and communicate any discrepancies or concerns.
- Continuously seek improvements in dispatch processes and logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in outbound logistics or a similar role, preferably with a haulage company.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
