Our client is a well-funded and established provider of design, construction, and maintenance services for the utilities industry. Reporting to Director level the successful candidate will be responsible for the entire logistical, supply chain and warehouse function of the business. Role summary:

The role will work closely with senior management and relevant departments to ensure best practice guidelines are adhered to and guarantee the prompt and full availability of materials to field operations to ensure optimal efficiency.

Responsibilities of the Warehouse/Logistic Manager - Retail:

  • Working closely with senior management and relevant departments and stores to ensure best practice guidelines are adhered to and guarantee the prompt and full availability of goods to ensure optimal efficiency.

  • To plan and actively manage all aspects of the warehouse on a day to day basis.

  • To ensure efficient delivery of materials and consumables from the supplier to the field operations team

  • Lead, develop and manage the warehouse team in a meaningful way through motivation, and appraisals.

  • To ensure that the logistical costs of central distribution from supplier to warehouse and on the field is effective.

  • To ensure team accurately records incoming and outgoing materials as well as all set inventory is tracked accurately on internal ERP software.

  • To ensure all back-office paperwork is completed in a timely manner,

  • To maintain an effective and organized display of materials in Warehouse to enable all staff to find navigate easily when necessary.

  • Ensure the team sets a neat and tidy workplace at all times.

  • To liaise and communicate with Senior Management in improving the performance and operational standards in Warehousing and logistics.

  • To ensure a strong focus on accuracy and accountability within warehouses with a view to improving inventory control

  • To monitor inventory levels in the Warehouses, reporting any problem areas to senior management and suppliers.

  • To ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and to maintain up to date knowledge of and adhere to all Company Health & Safety procedures, reporting any problem areas to the appropriate head.

  • Ensure the working environment, equipment, plant and people meet with legislative and internal health and safety standards at all times, reporting any problem areas to the appropriate head.

  • Monitor and assess KPI’s and where appropriate implement timely corrective actions

  • Assist the management team in delivering annual targets

  • Assist in identifying training and development needs of staff in line with business objectives

  • Utilize resources to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity

Knowledge & Skills required

  • 3+ years’ experience within a similar role.

  • Good communication and leadership skills.

  • A passion for best in class logistics and ware house management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external suppliers.

  • Ability to use strong judgement skills to identify and resolve problems whilst maintaining quality of output.

  • Excellent organisational skills and structured approach to work.

  • Ability to complete tasks, maintain documentation, and adhere to best practice standards.

  • Ability to work in a challenging and busy department.

  • Self-motivated with drive, enthusiasm and commitment.

  • Knowledge of safety requirements in a warehouse facility.

  • Ability to lead and manage a team.

  • To be proficient in the use of stock management systems and MS Office.
